Carmen Vasquez

She is survived by her husband Jesus Vasquez who she was married to for 75 years, two daughters, nine sons, fifty-one grandchildren, sixty-three great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren. As the matriarch of the family, she leaves us with very fond memories.

Our mother had a gift of hospitality and enjoyed cooking and feeding everyone who walked into her home. If you weren't hungry, it didn't matter, she served you and made sure you didn't leave hungry. Amongst the family, we always noted that if you didn't leave the dinner table on time, she was already coming your way with a second serving. As the great cook that she was we all have a favorite dish that many of us try to duplicate in her honor.

With such a large family here in the U.S. and in Mexico, some of her favorite things to do were to attend family social gatherings and travel to her home state of Jalisco.

Carmen was a woman of integrity, strength and great character who lived life loving her family. In her final weeks, she exuded such piece and love that everyone who visited her felt it and talked about it. She comforted us during this difficult time by making us laugh with her own funny way. Our mother was a fighter to the very end and we were blessed to have her for 92 years.

We miss her very deeply and our hearts ache, but we know she is rejoicing with the Lord! Until we meet again mom!

Carmen Vasquez nació el 5 de junio de 1929 y partió de esta tierra el 10 de Diciembre de 2021.

Le sobreviven su esposo Jesús Vásquez, con quien estuvo casada durante 75 años, dos hijas, nueve hijos, cincuenta y un nietos, sesenta y tres bisnietos y nueve tataranietos. Como matriarca de la familia, nos deja muy buenos recuerdos.

Nuestra madre tuvo un regalo de hospitalidad y disfrutó cocinando y alimentando a todos los que entraban a su casa. Si no tenías hambre, no importaba, ella te servía y se aseguraba de que no te quedaras con hambre. Entre la familia, siempre notamos que si no abandonabas la mesa a tiempo, ella ya venía hacia usted con una segunda porción. Como gran cocinera que fue, todos tenemos un plato favorito que muchos de nosotros intentamos duplicar en su honor.

Con una familia tan numerosa aquí en los Estados Unidos y en México, algunas de sus actividades favoritas eran asistir a reuniones sociales familiares y viajar a su estado natal de Jalisco.

Carmen fue una mujer íntegra, fuerte y de gran carácter que vivió la vida amando a su familia. En sus últimas semanas, exudaba tanto amor que todos los que la visitaban lo sentían y hablaban de ello. Ella nos consoló durante este momento difícil haciéndonos reír con su propia forma divertida. Nuestra madre fue una luchadora hasta el final y tuvimos la suerte de tenerla durante 92 años.

La extrañamos profundamente y nos duele el corazón, ¡pero sabemos que se regocija con el Señor! ¡Hasta que nos volvamos a encontrar mamá!
