Barbara Jane Blanchard

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, Barbara Jane Blanchard passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017. She was a native of Charenton and a resident of Roseland. She had a love for dancing, cooking, and listening to country and rock and roll music. She enjoyed being with her family, gardening and planting flowers. She took great pride in her attire. She always looked her best from head to toe! She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Andrew Blanchard, Jr.; one daughter, Rachel Blanchard Goldberg (Levi); one son, Preston Paul Blanchard; three sisters Claudia Gauthreaux Rivere, Jacqueline Gauthreaux Rivere, and Christine Gauthreaux Domingue; three brothers, Brent Gauthreaux, Carl Gauthreaux and Ferren Gauthreaux; four grandchildren, Tara Blanchard Jatho, Andrew Goldberg, Alexis Blanchard, and Alexander Goldberg. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Ervin Gauthreaux. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Richard Murphy Hospice House and to New Century Hospice for their care and support.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 6 pm to 9 pm at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part and again on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 8 am to 11 am.
