

Harold Joseph “Lover” Hebert, 80, a native and resident of Pierre Part, born on July 3, 1933, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 23, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. He was a U.S. Army - 82nd Airborne Paratrooper, Korean Conflict Veteran and a retired Poly A Warehouse Supervisor from Dow Chemical – Plaquemine Division. His fun loving spirit was felt by everyone he met, as he never met a stranger. His love and devotion to his community was evident through his involvement as Past Commander, Treasurer and Adjutant of the American Legion Landry-Domingue Post 328, a charter and 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Pierre Part Volunteer Fire Department, Assumption Parish Civil Defense, Red Diamond Hunting Club, and parishioner, usher and bereavement committee member of St. Joseph the Worker Church and St. Joseph Society. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, granddogs and long-time companion, Tigger Cat. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Anna Crochet Hebert. They have 8 children, daughters and their spouses, Deborah Blanchard, Colleen & Kevin Pilant, Susan and Roy Prejean, Angela and David Eastridge and Delilah and Rusty Forbes; sons and their spouses, Gerard and Sonya Hebert, Timothy and Fay Hebert and Robert and Yvette Hebert; 21 grandchildren, Harold and Dawn Harris, Julian and Kaycie Blanchard, Joshua and Amy Pilant, Lana and Tim Trude, Trisha and Jarrett Mabile, Hank Landry, Kerby McGregor and fiancé, Mary Barber, Matthew McGregor, Katie Landry, Tima Garrett, Brian and Zachary Hebert, Christa Prejean, and fiancé, Brandon Toups, Brittany Prejean, Cody, Ellen, Kailen and Caroline Landry, Sarah and Brennen Eastridge and Cody Forbes; and 18 great-grandchildren, Alexis Harris, Brennan Blanchard, Silas Blanchard, Madisyn and Payton Pilant, Reece, Ethan and Drake Trude, Liam Landry, Kailey Cedotal, Brayden and Bryson Landry, Ta’rese Garrett, Dreyson, Tráe and Alaya Landry, Maddox Toups and Kaylee Truxillo; a sister and spouse, Marguerite and Jesse Dugas; sisters-in-law and spouses, Isabelle Zeringue, Hortense and Francis Sevin, and Lucy Mae and Alton Bernuchaux, whom he loved as sisters; father-in-law, Felix Gauthreaux, and family friends, Patrick Blanchard and Jim Cox. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Irene Breaux Hebert; child, Baby Hebert; grandchildren, Breezie Landry, Baby Pilant, twin Baby Landrys, Baby Landry and Baby Forbes; great-grandchildren, Mason Mabile, Baby Mabile, and Baby Landry.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27 at 6 p.m. at Ourso Funeral Home, Pierre Part, until Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 28 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, celebrated by Fr. Al Davidson and Fr. Clarence Waguespack. Entombment is church mausoleum. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearer is Jim Cox. The family would like to give special thanks to Baton Rouge General – Bluebonnet staff, Dr. Jeffrey Hyde and St. Joseph’s Hospice.
