He was the best caretaker of his wife, his son’s idol, his daughters’ hero, and the greatest PawPaw to his grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, long-range shooting and exploring wildlife throughout the U.S. National Parks. He served in the Louisiana Army National Guard and firmly supported our freedoms & the 2nd Amendment. He was a member of Palo Alto Gun & Pistol Club, and loved sharing his passion for hunting and marksmanship with his family. He was a longtime employee of Exxon Refinery, where he held many positions within the labor union, first as a Representative, then as a Refinery Vice President and finally as Executive Vice President for several years before his retirement. He spent many years as a nuisance alligator hunter with LDWF, which made for some interesting stories that he entertained everyone with. His ability to talk to anyone and his many years at Exxon allowed him to gain lifelong friendships, which he cherished. Throughout his lifetime he enjoyed yearly elk hunts to Colorado, exploring Yellowstone National Park with his grandchildren, and traveling with his wife in an effort to see all 50 states. He was a phenomenal cook, an expert chauffeur, and the fixer of all things. He was short-tempered and sharp tongued, but he always had a well-timed and witty response which made his family laugh. He was a legend in his own right and often intimidated others, but behind his tough exterior, he had a huge heart and he loved his family fiercely. He was our ultimate protector and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Brenda Montz LeBlanc; his three children, Neil Patrick LeBlanc (Blaire), Wendy LeBlanc Aguillard (Larry), & Lindsey LeBlanc Raffray (Jared); his seven grandchildren, Katherene LeBlanc; Grayson, Samantha, Ryan & Bodhi Aguillard; Caroline & Piper Raffray; his three sisters, Dolores Campesi, Elaine Redmon(Paul), & Melissa Ventress(Darrel); numerous nieces/nephews who thought the world of him; and his beloved “brown dog” Roux.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Sr. and Lena Canella LeBlanc; and his grandson, Carson Ryan Aguillard.
