Rita G. Kern, 77, a native of Barataria and resident of Pierre Part, peacefully passed away into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at her home. Rita was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend to many. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of everyone. Sharing the love of Jesus Christ was demonstrated in her daily walk. She was an uplifter to the hurting or troubled, took care of the sick, and generously gave of herself when she didn’t have much to give. Her life was a true example of the Servant’s Heart which was shared with anyone that she came in contact with. She never met a stranger. Everyone was welcomed into her home for a meal or coffee. She tended to the sick, offered encouragement to those troubled reminding them that Love conquers all.

John 14:1-4 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
