Winnie Marie Simoneaux Daigle, a native of Little Grand Bayou and a resident of Pierre Part passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the age of 81.
Winnie was a devoted catholic and cherished her faith. The rock of our family, Winnie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Winnie loved to serve her community, family and friends. She enjoyed living a simple life and doing for others. Doing so made her happy. She loved to fish, garden, and was a great cook. Winnie was a proud member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Winnie leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Martha Thibodeaux and husband, Rudolph, Debra Mitchell, and Angie Ourso and husband, Jeffery; two sons, Danny Daigle and wife, June, and Perry Daigle and wife, Jodi; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and two sisters, Gladys Breaux and Louise Cavalier; She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd J. Daigle; her parents, Duvillier Simoneaux and Flavia Rivere SImoneaux; six brothers, Whitney Simoneaux, Sidney Simoneaux Sr., Aldrich Simoneaux, Gleason Simoneaux, Milton Simoneaux, and Ridley Simoneaux; son-in-law, Mel B. Mitchell, and godchildren, Arlene Simoneaux Goetz and Sidney “Doonie” Simoneaux Jr. The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday, July 11th from 5pm to 10 pm and again on Tuesday, July 12th from 7am until time of dismissal at 10:45am at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, July 12th at 11am at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with graveside following in the church cemetery.
