Missing my very good friend. Rip Virginia!

VJ was a wonderful person and a great friend to me. She was ready to do anything and go anywhere at the drop of a hat! I cherished the time we spent together and I think of her often. Hope you are having a blast in heaven, dearest VJ.

Dear VJ,
I can't believe it has been 4 years since you passed.  Despite the fact that you left us during a pandemic your daughters, Jeraline and Bernardine (with some help, I'm sure) handled your funeral arrangements with love and grace.  And that gave the rest of us sisters some peace.
Miss you, Sis and pray for you every day. RIP.

 I still miss you and say a prayer for you every day.  I pray that you are in heaven and waiting for the rest of us. You were a woman of faith and I am trying to learn from your example. I lost my Bob this year and miss him terribly and pray that he will join you in heaven and that someday we will all be together again.

I sure miss VJ, her wisdom, and her wit. I cherish the fun times that we had. I feel lucky that I met VJ at NCCI and we became fast friends.  VJ had a way of bringing people together and bringing out the best in people. Rest in peace, VJ. 

Virginia was smart, beautiful, beyond friendly, intelligence and always full of laughter.  I have missed her greatly and I think of her almost every day.  I know, in my heart, she is in heaven.

Dear Virginia,
I think about and pray for you every day.  You were such a good Christian woman and I pray that you are already in heaven.  So often I want to ask you a question about our family.  Even though we lived far from each other it was a comfort knowing that you were a phone call away.   Missing you, Sis.

Virginia was a very dear friend of mine.  My husband and I visited her almost every week.  She had the best sense of humor and loved to talk baseball with my husband.  I am very upset that we were not notified of her death and her funeral as Virginia  and I talked about these issues.  She will always be remembered in my heart. Rest in Peace my dear friend.

I loved the Christmas cards telling us that ‘Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus’.   VJ’s humor was always a tonic.

She did so much for others.   Giving of herself was what she was all about as she mentored young folks and administered the estate of a deceased friend who had no one else. 

 I will always remember the sibling reunion she orchestrated in Florida.   She thoughtfully researched what each of us would want to do.   What a fun time that was.

Here are 2 photos of my mom with me at my high school graduation and on my wedding day. My mom would travel miles to be part of special events and holidays for all of us. I remember when my mom called me a few years ago to tell me she couldn't make it to an event because she just didn't think she could physically handle traveling. I started to cry, she began to apologize and felt horrible, I told her I was crying because she must really not be well if she couldn't make it and that was why I was crying.
I was blessed to have a visit with her 4 weeks before she passed, we looked at tons of old pictures, yearbooks, letters and cards from her keepsake boxes. I learned more about my mom before she was my mom and her love of siblings, aunts, uncles and grandparents, she really is the family historian as her sisters call her. Now her history has become a larger part of my history.
Thank you God for the time we had here on earth with my mom. We will meet again mom, you promised that God would let me bypass purgatory, I know you're working on that right now.

I will miss my sister, Virginia and her warm heart and sense of humor.  In some uncertain times she taught me how to be a survivor. 

I loved our visits....her coming to IL and IN and us going to FL but it is never enough when miles separate you.

Virginia was the oldest of us 5 Jansen siblings and even though we lived far apart we could always count on her to keep us informed about our extended family.

Rest in Peace,  Virginia and please watch over us.

If theres one thing I would remember about my grandmother, it's that she was a huge Disney fanatic. I remember her wearing all sorts of different t shirts with classic characters on them and the stories she would tell about going to disney world. She had a heart of gold for anyone and everyone. Her intelligence was unlike any other, especially the love she had for computers. I am beyond grateful for every minute I spent with her, each memory being cherished forever. Her presence will be missed dearly but I am at peace knowing she is with God in heaven. You will be dearly missed grandma Jansen. Love, your grandson, Alex

VJ thank you for the many memories over so many years. You traveled so far so many times to make those memories  with family and friends.  It was an honor and a blessing to have been your Son In Law.  Now you are with the Angel's sitting at the lord's table. Enjoying  what the lord has promised us all,  eternity with him. You are home, rest in peace and until we see each other again. May the Irish wind be at your back always.

When I was little, Grandma Jansen had come over to our house in Michigan to babysit me and my brother while my parents were gone. I remember going into her room every day at 4:00pm to watch Jeopardy with her. She would know literally the answer to every question on the show and say them out loud before any contestant. I told her I thought she should go on the show because she would win and make a lot of money! She was the most intelligent person I knew but she never flaunted it or corrected you if you were wrong. I will miss her deeply but know she is in heaven now watching jeopardy every day and showing off to all the other angels. I love you Grandma! 

How sad that we didn’t get one more phone conversation in. So happy that for the past few years we’d take turns calling each other after decades of only mail contact. What a delight and masterful historian my cousin Virginia was! RIP you fun, smart, successful woman. Ms. Virginia was what I called her. She was kind, wise & had a great sense of humor. Gosh, I'm really gonna miss our visits which were full of wisdom, laughter and French vanilla coffee.

I am so sorry to hear about VJ. She was a great lady. I will always remember the fun times we had at work, happy hours, concerts, Disney trips and playing bridge.  

VJ was a great friend and mentor. She touched the lives of many people throughout her life. She was there, to help you through the rough times and to enjoy the good times. If you were lucky enough to be her friend, she would stick with you through thick and thin. 

VJ volunteered as a mentor in the Take Stock in Children program and positively impacted the lives of many young people. 

VJ was easy-going and lived in the moment. She enjoyed getting out and doing things especially her trips to Disney World. 

I'm glad that my path crossed with VJ's path and we had many fun times together. I cherish those times and I miss her.
