Clyde Melvin Jones

Clyde Melvin Jones, 73, of Port Arthur, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas, Port Arthur. He was born on August 30, 1938 to Clyde Maxwell and Iva Della Jones in Port Arthur.

Mr. Jones had served eight years in the National Guard and was self employed. He enjoyed dancing, fishing and hunting. He was a very giving man and was always willing to help any of his friends and family in their time of need.

Clyde is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Ivy Reona Hughes and Eula Mae Lopez.

His survivors include a son, Tom Jones and wife Paloma of San Antonio; two daughters, Carole Jones of San Antonio, Kim Jones Pratt and husband Troy of Lumberton; sister, Minnie Lou Kelcher of Groves and three grandchildren, Jonathan Jones, Kenneth Heisner and Lindsey Pratt.

A gathering of his family and friends will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, Port Arthur.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2012 in the Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
