

Dolores Soliz, 83, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2011. Dolores was born September 13, 1928, to Felipe and Soledad Ortega. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Las Damas Guadalupanas and Senior Citizen Club where she volunteered her time in various positions. Lola was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Dolores is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Landry and husband Danny and Jerrima McNabb and husband Jeff; sister, Carmen Escobedo and husband Joe; sister-in-law, Mary Ortega, sister-in-law, Cokey Reyna, sister and brother-in-law, Carmen and Arthur Leon, sister and brother in-law, Toby and Jesse Montalvo; grandchildren, Derek Landry and wife Amanda, Krista James and husband Jeremy, Rene Doise and husband Darren, Michelle Crain, Kassie McNabb and Justin McNabb; great-grandchildren, Alex and Anthony James, Sloan and Sage Landry, Layla Crain, Corren and Jaxon Doise and Jace Dunn and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jessie Soliz, her parents, brothers, Felo, Richard and Tony Ortega, sisters, Annie Ortega, Rita Garcia and Deacon Roy Garcia.
Lola enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and going to the casinos.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2011, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011, at 1 p.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Rev. T.R. Blanco officiating.
