Gloria grew up in Port Arthur, TX with 7 siblings. She graduated from Bishop Byrne High School in 1964. She got married and had her first 3 children, Vicky, Jimmy, and Dale, and worked hard to raise them as a single mother when the marriage didn’t work out. I’m going to marry that man!” Six weeks later on November 3, 1977, James and Gloria were married. With this marriage, Gloria gained a new stepson, Randy, and then came a daughter, Kandi. Gloria and James had 43 years together, through all of life’s ups and downs. They truly honored their wedding vows, through better or worse, richer or poorer, sickness and health, until death parted them. Gloria spent her life taking care of others. She loved to help and to give when she could. Gloria was a very hard worker and spent many years as a custodian in schools. She was a lover of babies and children. From babysitting her nieces and nephews as a teenager, to raising her own children, to spoiling her many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, she always had so much love to give.
