Howard G Frey Jr.

Howard G. Frey, Jr., 84, of Port Neches, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014, in Port Arthur. Howard was born February 19, 1930, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to the late Howard G. Frey and Kathleen Helman Frey. Howard was a loving husband, devoted father, proud Papa and a friend to many. He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing and traveling with his family. His love of music lead him to study, perform, teach, promote and encourage others at Chambersburg High School, Mansfield State Teachers College, Boston University, Port Arthur ISD, Port Neches-Groves ISD, the Concert Association of Southeast Texas, and Trinity Presbyterian Church. Trinity Presbyterian Church was a special place for Howard, where he served as teacher, Elder and with the choir since 1957. Howard had a gift of bringing the best out of everyone he met. He will be greatly missed.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Doris Washinger.

Howard is survived by his wife of over 59 years, Elizabeth Boyd Frey, sons Glenn Frey and his wife Sharon of Huntsville; Carl Frey and his wife Sherri of Houston; grandchildren, Casey Frey, Christopher Frey, David Frey and Phillip Frey; great grandchildren, Caylee Frey and Elizabeth Dean as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Port Neches. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Port Neches, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
