Joe "Rock" Morales

Joe Ignacio Morales, 43, of Beaumont, TX passed away Friday, October 18, 2013 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born November 10, 1969 in Dallas, TX to Bernardo and Margaret Morales. Joe loved cars, playing pool and dancing.

Joe is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Lee Polanco Morales. He is survived by his father, Bernardo Duran Morales, Sr. and biological father, Filbert Luera, Sr.; son, Tyler Harvey of Buna; daughters, Chelsea Morales Nix and her husband, Brandon of Virginia and Camryn Morales of Illinois; brothers, Bernardo Morales, Jr., and his wife, Holland of Nederland and Filbert Luera, Jr. of New Mexico; sisters, Leticia Broussard and her husband, Jason of Port Arthur, Melissa Claiborne and her husband, Scott of Nederland and Loretta Hawkins and her husband, Shawn of Brenham. Joe is also survived by numerous other family members and a host of friends. Joe will be greatly missed.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2013 at St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur, with Rev. J.C. Coon officiating.
