Mrs. Lupe Castillo Sepeda

Lupe Castillo Sepeda passed away peacefully and gently into the arms of her Lord and Savior surrounded by family at her home in Katy, Texas on Monday, October 17, 2011 at the age of 90 years. She was born on December 15, 1920 in San Antonio, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Tomasa Castillo; her husband of 55 years, John Henry Sepeda; sons, John William, Jack Wayne and Charles William Sepeda; Great grandson, Aidan Wayne Bearden. She is survived by her sons, Thomas (Buddy) Sepeda and his wife Anita, Jim Sepeda, Danny Sepeda and his wife Katherine, daughters; Ginny Bearden and her husband David, Carolyn Kares and her husband Joe, Barbara Jean Ricks and her husband George, Christine Ballard and her husband Jeff, Renee Johnson and her husband Kevin, Denise Sepeda, Penny Ewing and Janice Sepeda; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and one sister, Olga Kolbo of San Diego, California.

Lupe was a devoted and loving wife and mother to her 14 children and spent the majority of her life in the Port Arthur and Groves area where she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1939. She was a resident of Katy for the past nine years. She enjoyed being a member of the Katy Senior Center and enjoyed her ceramics class and many friends.

Funeral services are to be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Grammier – Oberle Funeral Home with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. To 12:30 p.m.

Pall bearers will be her grandsons; David Bearden, Jr., Dylan Bourgeois, Aaron Collier, Douglas Johnson, Michael Ricks and Travis Koch. Honorary Pall Bearer will be her much loved Autistic grandson, Brandon Sepeda.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lupe’s memory can be sent to the home Delivered Meals of Katy, 1418 Miller Ave., TX 77493.
