

Margaret Lee Polanco Morales, 62, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 22, 2010, at DuBuis St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas after bravely battling an illness, she went home to be with her HEAVENLY FATHER.
Devoted wife and mother, Margaret was born on April 26, 1948, in Victoria, Texas to Cruz and Esther Polanco, Sr. She had lived in Fannett for thirty years before moving to Beaumont. She was a homemaker and occasionally worked for Home Health as a private care provider. Margaret was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur and Assumption Catholic Church in Beaumont. Margaret loved to cook especially for her family who she loved dearly, especially her grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Leticia Broussard and her husband Jason of Port Arthur and Melissa Claiborne and her husband Scott of Nederland; sons, Joe Morales and his fiancée Joy Driver of Groves and Bernard Morales, Jr. and his companion Holland Ellis of Beaumont; parents, Cruz and Esther Polanco, Sr. of Port Arthur; husband of thirty-six years, Bernardo Morales, Sr. of Pasadena; siblings, Jimmy Polanco and his wife Rene of Port Arthur; Diane Polanco Estorga and her husband Louis of Port Arthur, Rosie Polanco Manriquez and her husband Pete of Nederland, Frances Polanco Delgado and her husband Randy of Beaumont and Cruz Polanco, Jr. and his wife Margaret of Port Arthur; grandchildren, Tyler Harvey, Chelsea Morales, Camryn Morales, Christopher Guidry, Nelson Mitchell, Isaiah Broussard, Ashley Claiborne and Eren Claiborne, Heath Driver and Kayli Driver; her best friend, Paula Hearnsberger of Ohio and formerly of Fannett.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010, at St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur with Father J.C. Coon serving as the Celebrant. Cremation will take place at Haven of Rest Crematory in Bridge City.
