Maria Idolina Martinez Aldaiz, age 79, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025. She was born on March 12, 1946, and throughout her life she was known for her warmth, her strength, and the deep love she held for her family.
Maria is preceded in death by her father, Gregorio Martinez Jr.; her mother, Otila Lopez Martinez; her daughter, Maria Isabel Sanchez; and her sister, Maria De La Luz Martinez.
She is survived by her loving daughters: Jennifer and Robert Jimenez; Maria Christina and husband Arnoldo Magallon; and Melanie Holden. She also leaves behind her cherished siblings: sisters Dora Martinez and husband Alfonso, Elisa Martinez, and Delia Picacio and husband Santos; as well as brothers Jaime Martinez and Juan Martinez and wife Adela.
Maria’s legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren: Juan Arnoldo Magallon, Marisela Padilla, Miguel Angal Magallon, Daniela Rocha, Ashley Hernandez, Karissa Dykes, Alicia Hernandez, Leila LeFloor, Melina Underwood, and Roxanna Strada. She also leaves behind thirty-nine great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride into her life.
Maria cherished the simple, meaningful pleasures of each day. She loved music, crossword puzzles, and word games, and she never missed her favorite TV game shows or her beloved novelas—especially The Young and the Restless. Above all, she treasured every moment spent with her family. Her gentle spirit, her humor, and her unwavering love will remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
A Gathering of Family & Friends will be held at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, Chapel, located at 4841 39th St., Port Arthur, Texas 77642, on December 9, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Catholic Funeral Mass to celebrate Maria’s life will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 3648 S/Sgt. Lucian Adams Drive, Port Arthur, Texas 77642, on December 10, 2025, at 2:00 pm.
Maria Idolina Martinez Aldaiz will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
