Murphy Joseph Kidder Sr.

Murphy Joseph Kidder, Sr., a lifelong resident of Port Arthur, Texas died in his home February 8, 2014. He was born May 20, 1933 in Arnaudville, Louisiana to Julia Lagrange and Francis Kidder. Following graduation from Cecilia High School in 1952 Murphy, Sr. joined the Air Force where he served as a Staff Sergeant and was honorably discharged in 1956. Mr. Kidder was employed as a welder at Gulf Oil Refinery where he retired. Mr. Kidder was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Helen Louise Thibodeaux Kidder.

Mr. Kidder is survived by three sons and five grandchildren. Michael Anthony Kidder and wife Christine of Irvine, California; David Francis Kidder of Port Arthur; and Murphy J. Kidder, Jr., and wife Rachal of Port Neches, Texas; grandchildren are Lauren Ann Kidder and Bailey Morgan Kidder of Kountze, Texas; Bennett Dailey Kidder of Irvine, California; Virgie Ameritte Norris and Justin C. Norris of Port Neches, Texas.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
