Samantha Rachelle Jackson

Samantha Rachelle Jackson, 19, of Orange, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2012, at her home. Samantha was born on August 30, 1992, in Port Arthur to Nicole Marie Jackson Gregory. Samantha was a student at Lamar University. She was a top trainer at L.C.M. and graduated with honors. Samantha could best be described as a cheerful and caring optimist who always brightened any room with her smile. She was known by everyone as a person who was always willing to help and give to others and defined the meaning of a true friend. She will be greatly missed by many.

Samantha is survived by her mother, Nicole Marie Jackson Gregory and father, Joshua Gregory of Sealy, Texas; son, Joland Alexander Duquee, brother, Taylor James Porter, grandmother, Susan M. Drake, grandfather, Raymond Bruce Jackson and wife Melanie of Houston; great grandparents, William and Loretta Meleton of Groves; great grandparents, John and Joyce Jackson of Nederland; Godfather, Jerry L. Jackson of Nederland; Godmother, Denise M. Crate of Orange; and a plethora of cousins and wonderful friends.

A gathering of her family and friends will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Nederland, Texas.
