Than Thi Nguyen, 66, of Opelousas Louisiana passed away on Wednesday October 4,2023. She was born on December 12, 1956, in Phuoc Tuy, Vietnam. Than Nguyen is preceded in death by her son Gene Tran. She is survived by her husband Nang Tran; Her children Steven Tran and his wife Tam Vo; Jerry Tran and his wife Truc Ly Nguyen; Kathy Van and her husband Hai Van; Danny Tran and his wife Lana Tran; Cindy Zapata and husband Efren Zapata; her grandchildren; Malynia, David, Brandon, Christian, Eli, Ariel, Faris, Nathan, Nolan , Deleah, Justin , Mason, Aubrey, Londyn, Adriel, and Ahlani.
Than, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Throughout her life she was known for her hardworking nature, patience, love, forgiveness, and sense of humor.
A true matriarch, Than was a nurturing and caring woman who dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She held her children close to her heart and took immense pride in ensuring their well-being. Her love knew no bounds. Her patience and forgiving nature were a source of comfort and strength to those around her.
Than enjoyed traveling and exploring new places. She lived life to the fullest, and her infectious sense of humor brought joy and laughter to those around her.
Than’s kindness and sweetness shone through every interaction. She had genuine warmth that endeared her to many. Her love and compassion left a lasting impact on many.
As we bid farewell to Than, let us remember her as the epitome of love, kindness, and dedication. Her legacy will live on through the beautiful memories she has left behind.
Prayers will be offered on Thursday, October 12, from 5:00 - 8:00 Pm with the recitation of The Holy Rosary followed by the Blessing of the Garments beginning at 6:00 PM. On Friday October 13, the family will a attend a Mass in Than's honor at the Queen of Vietnam at 5:00 pm, the family will receive friend at Grammier Oberle following the Mass from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will beheld on Saturday, October 14, 2023 beginning at 9:00 AM. Than will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
