William Myers Bergman

William Myers Bergman, 92 of Port Arthur passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013. William was born December 28, 1921 in Orange, New Jersey to the late William Jennings Bergman and Beatrice Moore Bergman.

William was described by his family as a loving husband, devoted father and proud grandparent. William loved his family above all and also enjoyed fishing, hunting, scuba diving, traveling and the outdoors. William earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas and retired with over 40 years of service from Gulf Oil as a Chemical Engineer. William was a member of the Chemic al Engineers Society, the Lions Club, Port Arthur Community Concert associating and a private investment Group. William will be missed by many in his community.

William is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Harriett Evon Bergman, and sister, Patricia Bergman Sorsby.

William is survived by his sons, William Blake Bergman and his wife Molly of Port Neches; Myers Kim Bergman and his wife Pam of Hye, Texas; Michael Drew Bergman and his wife Liz of Bridge City; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday January 3, 2014 at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
