He knocked at the door and Our Lord God answered. And why not? Wasn’t he a kind, loving, giving and honest man? Never hurting anyone, ever.
Al was all that. The son of the late Mary & Wilbur Exton. The husband of Elizabeth (Lee) Vinci Exton. Al leaves behind a son, Paul Exton and daughter-in-law Pamela Exton of Port St. Lucie, brothers Charles and wife Pearl Exton of East Stroudsburg, PA, Kenneth and wife Barbara Exton of Kent City, MI, and sister Lorraine and husband Kenneth Tolar of Grand Rapids, MI, sister-in-laws Delores Corso, Gloria Vinci and Marie Vinci of Port St. Lucie, granddaughter Crystal and husband Rob Davis with grandsons Jacob Collier and JP Davis of Groveland, FL, and many wonderful nieces & nephews.
Al and wife Elizabeth lived most the of their 58 years in Lodi, NJ and upon retirement, moved to Sunny Port St. Lucie, Florida. Al was an auto electrical mechanic working with cars, 18 wheelers and finally golf carts at the Edgewood Country Club in River Vale, NJ. Al was a sportsman, loving fishing & hunting and was an avid swimmer. He was a volunteer with the YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club of Garfield, NJ, teaching Jr & Sr Life Saving, certifying them with the American Red Cross. He was also an Army Vet. When Al retired, he became an active member of the Saint Lucie Catholic Church and joined the Our Lady’s Rosary Makers.
A celebration of life will be held, October 31, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Saint Lucie Catholic Church, 425 SW Irving St, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983 directed by Aycock Funeral Home, 1504 SE Floresta Drive, Port St. Lucie, Florida 34983 (772) 878-0049. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Lucie Catholic Church or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
