Anita Napoliello Commette

December 10, 1911 – June 23, 2014

Anita (Nikki) Napoliello Commette of Port St. Lucie. West, Florida and Mantoloking, New Jersey, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at the age of 102.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 26, 2014, 4:00PM – 7:00PM at the Aycock Funeral Home Chapel in Port St. Lucie, FL, with a Prayer Service at 6:00PM.

A Funeral Mass will be Friday, June 27, 2014, 10:00AM t Holy Family Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, FL.

Left to cherish her memory are her five children; daughter, Gail McShane of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; son, Denis Commette and wife Carol of Mantoloking, New Jersey; daughter, Sue Berry and husband Cal, of Port St. Lucie, FL; daughter Nina Corby of Georgetown, Washington, DC; and son, Peter Commette, Esq. and wife Connie of Fort Lauderdale, FL. She also leaves 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren with a great great-grandchild due in August.

Nikki was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Albert Sheehan Commette and granddaughter Ashley Houston McShane.

Born in 1911 in Yonkers, New York, Nikki attended Yonkers High School and New Rochelle College where she excelled in basketball, track, swimming, diving, field hockey and tennis.

Nikki was a well known model in New York with the John Robert Power’s Agency and the Huntington Hartford Agency doing print and TV work. She was a Vogue Magazine’s “Mrs. Exeter” and Clairol’s Silk and Silver cover model. She also modeled for the couture houses of Norell, Mainbocher and Nina Ricci.

Nikki left quite a legacy of family and friends. She will be missed by all that knew her.
