

Carmen was born in Puerto Rico to the Late Jose and Carmen Martinez, nee Hernandez. At the age of 16, Carmen and her family moved to New York City before settling in Long Island, New York. In 2004 she moved to Orlando, Florida before settling a year later in Port St. Lucie. Carmen enjoyed dancing and was an avid shooter at pool. Carmen was everybody’s mom, known for her generosity and caring demeanor towards others. She enjoyed life to its fullest and was very family oriented. She never defined family by blood.
Carmen was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Martinez; sister, Iris Friedman; and partner, Peter Panter.
Survivors include her ex-husband, Leonard Chumsky; sons, Daniel Chumsky (Lisa), of Melville, New York and Kenny Chumsky, of Port St. Lucie; daughter, Dawn Martin (Lou Naccarato), of Port St. Lucie; grandchildren, Austin, Brendan, Matthew, Olivia, Angelica; and close family friends, Mimi Rivera, Blanca Diaz, and Julian Rivera.
A gathering of friends and family will take place on Thursday November 10, 2016 at Aycock Funeral Home, 1504 SE Floresta Drive, Port St. Lucie, Florida 34986 from 6-7 pm with a funeral service at 7 pm.
