

Christine Raymond, age 79, most beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away October 1, 2022, after more than a year of struggles with multiple health issues. Born in Flushing, NY on January 28, 1943, to Vincent L. Zielinski (deceased) and Julia Mazurkiewicz Zielinski (deceased), formerly of Saratoga, NY. She graduated from Sewanhaka High School, Floral Park, NY in the class of 1960. In 1964, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the State University of New York at Cortland.
Upon graduation from Cortland, Christine became an Elementary School Teacher in the Wappingers Central School District, Wappingers Falls, New York and was a favorite of her fifth and sixth grade students. After teaching, she went on to become the Director of Admissions at Krissler Business Institute, Poughkeepsie, NY, where she retired after sixteen years of dedicated service.
Christine put one hundred percent effort into everything she did and earned the following prestigious awards during her career: New York State Public Relations Association Achievement in Education Journalism Merit Award Radio Advertisements 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 & 1997; Business Education Association Mid-Hudson Appreciation Award For Fourteen Years of Service 1996; Dutchess Association For Continuing Education Outstanding Service Award 1995; Dutchess County Community Action Agency Recognition Award of Merit 1989, 1990 & 1997 which was renamed “The Christine Raymond Meritorious Award” in 1997 and Future Business Leaders of America Certificate of Appreciation Award 1982-1996.
She also held many professional and civic memberships such as: Dutchess County Counseling Association serving as President, Treasurer, Secretary and sat on the Board of Directors; Business Education Association of Mid-Hudson serving as President, Secretary, Program Chair and sat on the Board of Directors; Hudson Valley Area Marketing Association serving as Program Chair and sat on the Board of Directors; New York Counseling Association serving on the Region IV Planning Committee; Future Business Leaders of America serving as a competition judge; New York State School Counselors Association, Dutchess Association For Continuing Education, New York State Association For Continuing Community Education, New York State Public Relations Association, National Association of Vocational Technical Education Communication, Greater Poughkeepsie Area School-To-Work Coalition, Poughkeepsie Area Chamber of Commerce, Greater Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce, Cold Spring Garrison Area Chamber of Commerce, Hillside Lake Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Dogwood Knolls Civic Association, Fishkill Plains PTA Historian, US Postal Council, BPOE Port St. Lucie Elks Lodge #2658 where she became the first Queen of the Sweetheart Ball February 14, 2008, served as Tiler 2011-2013, achieved Elk of the Month April 2010 and Elk of the Year 2011-2012.
She and the love of her life, Bruce A. Raymond, retired to Port St. Lucie, Florida in October 2001 and she became active in the Savanna Club Aquady- namics Club, walking, biking, and having fun! She and Bruce also joined the Elks together and volunteered countless hours in the kitchen and wherever else they were needed.
She is survived by her loving children, Sean A. Zampino and his fiancé Laura Notarbartolo of Hilton Head Island, SC and Noelle Giachinta along with her husband Michael of Cold Spring, NY; grandson, Cameron R. Zampino of Cold Spring, NY, brother, Jerome Zielinski and his wife Judy of Saratoga, NY, her nieces Kristin Mercier and her husband Brian, of East Greenbush, NY and Tamara Flavell along with her husband Steve, of Coral Springs, FL. She is predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Bruce A. Raymond (d. 2020).
Burial will take place in Cold Spring, NY during a family graveside service.
