Donald was born December 30, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois to the late George H. Nelson and Phyliss Gordon Simons.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sherrie Nelson; son, Todd M. Nelson, of Port St. Lucie, Florida; sister, Kathy Ann Smith(Richard) of Carol Stream, Illinois; step daughter, Mindy L. Harmon of Columbus, Ohio and step son, Jeffrey L. Harmon of Ehon, Ohio.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.
