Dwain David Dinius entered into God’s kingdom unexpectedly on the morning of Monday, October 16, 2023, with his daughter, Barbara at his side. He was born on June 30, 1931 in Canton Ohio where he spent the majority of his life, to Amie Barbara Strauss Dinius and Clarence Arthur Dinius.
Dwain met Mary M. Ohman at his place of work and they married October 17, 1954 and were together until she passed in 2006.
Dwain was the most loving and devoted son, husband, father, grand, and great grandfather. He is survived by daughters Marsha D and(Michael)Mitchell, Barbara C Sexton and Sharon R Shuman, deceased is daughter Bonny G Logan. Dwain had 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Upon graduation from Timken high school in 1949, Dwain served in the Ohio National Guard for approximately five years as a medic until 1956. He was employed as a press operator for the Canton Repository newspaper until his job became obsolete, thus he became a proof reader. Dwain had a love for driving and drove a bus for Council of Aging and later for an after school daycare well into his 80s.
A few of his interests were golf, bocce, bowling, football (Cleveland Browns), tennis and other sports, playing at the arcades, and with his amazing memory a love for trivia, and words with friends. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Shortly after his first wife, Mary passed on, he met Sandy Waine at a bereavement group where he found a renewed joy for life for the next 13 years as they went on cruises, danced, went to shows, traveled, and became part of each other’s families, until she passed in 2019.
Dwain had a love for life and wanted to live until he was 100 years old. He was a kind, gentle person always happy with a positive attitude. No one was a stranger to him as he made the best of all situations. We will miss him always.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Aycock Funeral Home 1504 Southeast Floresta Drive, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983. A celebration of life for Dwain will then be held from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM with a reception to follow from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
