Edwin C. Coombs Jr.

Edwin C. Coombs, Jr., 74, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 28, 1941, in Warren, Ohio. He graduated from Cortland High School and attended Youngstown State University. Ed married his wife, Connee Williams, in 1962. They made their home in Cortland, Ohio. He was with Dick Adgate Florist for 34 years before moving to Port St Lucie, Florida, and acquired Flowers by Susan in 1991. He was an avid reader, a golfer, and he loved to travel. Ed attended Morningside Church and was a member of the PSL Elks Lodge #2658.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents Edwin C. Coombs, Sr. and Grace Coombs; brothers-in-law R. Joseph Williams and Wiley S. Williams I. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Connee; his daughter Tami (Scott) Mateer and son, Eric; grandchildren Nikolas, Meghan, and Jacob Mateer and Christian and Connor Coombs; sister Nina Coombs Pykare; brothers-in-law Thomas M. Williams and Tyghe K. Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

A ceremony to celebrate his life will be held Monday, July 20th, at 1:30pm at Morningside Church. Visitation will begin at 1pm with the ceremony at 1:30pm.
