He graduated from the University of Tampa and was a member of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity.
He was witty, loved to tell jokes and do voice impersonations. He was a member of the Lions Club for many years - on Key Biscayne and in Port Saint Lucie. Starr loved music of all kinds but his favorite was classic rock and Jethro Tull.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Heidi, daughter Meghan Cantrell and son in law, Mark Cantrell and grandson, Chase, his pride and joy. He is also survived by other family members across the country.
