

Floyd Cain Davis who lived to be 96 years old passed away in Port St Lucie, Florida on April 1, 2022. He was born on August 3, 1925 in Newport News, Virginia and was the third youngest of nine children. He grew up working on a farm in Farmville, Virginia until joining the armed forces. He worked hard his entire life and retired from Florida Power and Light in Miami. Floyd (known as Dave) loved his friends and family and was always full of life. He loved to laugh and tell jokes. He was an inspiration to all with great words of wisdom and caring. He served in World War II in the United States Naval Service and survived the Normandy invasion on Omaha Beach. The beloved Grandfather and Uncle will be missed by his daughter, grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Everyone that knew him, loved him and enjoyed his wit and sense of humor. He will be missed by so many. He is predeceased by his brothers and sisters and loving wife Mary who has been waiting for him to join her since October 2010. Mary was full of life and loved to entertain, always giving hugs to strangers. Floyd (Dave) had the most amazing garden with everything imaginable and Mary was the most incredible cook, creating everything from scratch. They had a happy life together and will now be together once again.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at South Florida National Cemetery.
