

Born in Long Island City, NY, he was the son of the late George and Mary Cannon. He moved to West Islip, NY in 1952 where he met and married his forever sweetheart Veronica Deuel and his best friends Carol Molloy Cotrone and Luca Cotrone. Francis and Veronica moved to Islip Terrace, NY in 1962, where they raised their children Kenneth, Kevin and Kellyanne. He was a member of Saint Peter the Apostle Church in Islip Terrace, where he served as Eucharistic Minister, 3rd Order of Franciscans and several ministries within the parish. He served as a Cub Scout Master for 3 years and participated in many community functions.
He moved to Crisfield, MD in 1996 and was a member of Saint Elizabeth Church in Westover. He served as a Eucharistic Minister and 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was actively involved in his grandchildren’s sports and extra-curricular activities and enjoyed every minute with them.
In 2009 he moved to the Treasure Coast where he was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church and a 4th degree Knight of the Knight of Columbus.
He enjoyed camping in the Catskill Mountains at Whip-O-Will campground, where he met many friends with his winning smile.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Veronica Deuel; his son Kenneth and partner Rose of Jensen Beach, FL, son Kevin and wife Barbara of Kissimee, FL, daughter Kellyanne and her partner Scott of Salisbury, MD; 10 grandchildren, Kenneth, Brendon, Brittnee, Brandy, James, Jonathan, Michael, Rachel, Sarah Faith and Rachel Hope. He also is survived by 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at the Aycock Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie, FL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 20, 2013, 9:30AM at St. Lucie Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie, FL.
In Lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, or Wounded Warriors.
