

Frederick was born in Syracuse, New York to John and Ruth Hassett. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a United States Army Sgt from 1948 to 1953. In 1952, he married the love of his life, Catherine Hassett. Frederick owned and operated Hassett Construction for many years in Marcellus. He was a member of the VFW and the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed years of boating on Cayuga Lake with all of his brothers and sisters. In his younger years, he cherished his time traveling in his motorhome. Everyone enjoyed Freddie’s quick Irish wit and great sense of humor. Frederick enjoyed spending time in later years with his family and beloved dog, Sam.
Frederick was preceded in death by his wife Catherine in 1988; along with a brother, Robert Hassett; and sister, Mary Robb.
Survivors include his daughters, Linda Westcott (Jim), of Stuart, Florida and Michele Rajkowski (Richard), or Port St. Lucie; grandchildren, Jeffrey Westcott, Kathryn Christenson, Chance Rajkowski, and Jenna Rajkowski, great grandson, Connor Christenson; brothers, William, Edward, and John Hassett; and sister Sharon Dominguez.
Interment will take place at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local VFW in Frederick’s name.
