

Frederick Michael Jurewicz Sr. of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away peacefully on July 31, 2014 surrounded by his loving family after a brave fight with cancer. Fred was born in Bridgeport, CT on April 18, 1940 to the late Adolph and Sophie (Danek) Jurewicz. He grew up in Bridgeport, served honorably in the US Navy and married the love of his life, Judy Miller, in 1961 before moving to Huntington to raise his family. He worked at United Technologies/Norden Systems and Bob Wall Associates before starting his own company, Power Tech in 1985 and retired to Florida with his wife in 1997. He enjoyed an active life as a recreational pilot, sailor, keyboardist, and scuba diver. He will always be remembered for his love of family, music, his kindness, a willingness to help others and his ability to fix anything. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judy, daughters Cheryl Grillo of Tampa, FL, Karen Masi of Stratford, CT, son Frederick Jr. of Glastonbury, CT, grandchildren Jill, Katie, Alex, Ian and Daniel, great-granddaughter Harper Grace, sisters Irene Wolfe and Lucy Nunno. He will be greatly missed by his family and all of those who knew him.
