George Arthur McClenathan

George was born on March 19,1947 in Dunkirk, NY, son of the late George A. McClenathan and Frances (Whalen) McClenathan. He graduated from Cardinal Mindszenty High School in 1967 and Mohawk Community College in 1969. George then worked in maintenance at SUNY Fredonia before moving to Florida. He then worked as a salesman for many years before becoming a maintenance person for Fast Food Enterprises prior to retirement.

George enjoyed playing basketball well into retirement, watching his favorite Baltimore Ravens football team and spending his time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joanne (Pawloski) McClenathan of Port St. Lucie, FL; son, Kevin McClenathan of Port St Lucie, FL; sister, Sheila (Late Roger) Wilcox of Hamburg, NY. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and brother in law to Linda Pawloski of Blasdell, NY. He will be sadly missed by his canine companions, Holly and Lola.

George was preceded in death by his sister, Melrose McClenathan and his half-brother, Robert Piest.

There will be no prior visitation scheduled. A graveside service in Port St. Lucie will be announced at a later date. A date for a memorial service in Dunkirk, NY will also be announced at a later time.
