Janet Carol Randazzo, 86, known to family and friends as Jenny, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2020 in Port St. Lucie, FL with her sisters by her side. Janet was born on March 12, 1934, in Manhattan, NY, the first daughter and third child of the late Mr. and Mrs. Luis and Manuela Quinones. Jenny was raised and continued to live in the Quinones’ beloved family home on Bills Place in Brooklyn, NY until 1997 when she moved to Port St. Lucie, FL to live with her mother, Manuela, at Sun Terrace and lived there for five years.
Jenny is survived by her beloved daughter, Linda Louise Randazzo, beloved brother, Manuel Quinones and his wife Tyra, her loving and caring sister, guardian and caretaker, Hilda Zofrea and husband Vincent Zofrea, her loving sister Gloria Alfarano and husband, Vincent Alfarano. She is also survived by seven nieces and nephews - Michael Quinones, Jean Dana Quinones, Louis Quinones, Sean Quinones, Lori Armstrong, Christopher Quinones and Joseph Alfarano, and five great-nieces and nephews. She also had a beloved predeceased older brother, Angelo Quinones.
As a young woman, she worked at Chase Manhattan Bank and as a Key Punch Operator for Sue Brett Fashion house. In 1973, at the age of 39, Jenny suffered a brain aneurysm, with complications that followed and became disabled, yet she always remained strong and resilient, fighting back each time there were setbacks, persevering through it all with her quick wit and spicy sense of humor.
Throughout her time living in Florida, Jenny enjoyed joining family for holiday dinners, birthdays and barbecues, and looked forward to playing her favorite card game Skip-Bo with her great nephew, Matthew, during family visits. She delighted in cooking Spanish and Italian dishes and baking her famous cheese cake for special occasions. While still living independently at the Cove, Jenny liked to ride her red scooter around the neighborhood for visits and errands. She also enjoyed socializing at the community clubhouse with friends and neighbors, participating in Bingo and weekly Bible study, holiday dances, Saturday brunch and arts and crafts. Fortunately, Janet was able to attend last Christmas with family and enjoyed herself very much.
