Paul was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Anna Mokry; by his brother, Joseph J. Mokry; and sister, Maryanna Mokry Keith.
He leaves his beloved wife of 61 years, Jackie Mokry; his daughters, Holly Carroll (Jeff), Cheri Spaulding (Roger), Paula Gillette (Dennis); four grandchildren, Miranda, Ryan, Emily and Shannon; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Bailey and Jacob; and his brother Ted Mokry (Linda) and their beloved dog, Pixie.
He was born in Middletown, Ohio. Paul served in the United States Navy on the USS Moale during the Korean War. After leaving the Navy, Paul landed in Miami, Florida where he met Jackie and it was love at first sight.
Paul was a pipefitter/welder out of Local Union 392, Cincinnati, Ohio. Later in his career, he supervised the construction of nuclear plants and power plants around the country. 20 years ago Paul and Jackie retired and put down their roots in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. He was a member of The American Legion. He had a strong faith and was a member of Port St. Lucie Presbyterian Church.
Paul loved his boat and sharing rides with his family and neighbors. He was a hard worker and meticulously kept his lawn, pool and home. He also enjoyed woodworking and woodcrafts. In his down time he enjoyed watching Fox News and he loved a good war movie. And most of all he enjoyed taking care of his family – it was all done for his “girls.”
The family would like to express appreciation to Paul and Jackie’s great neighbors and friends; caregivers, Katelin and Rebecca; along with the wonderful Hospice staff and nurses.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, Florida 34981.
Arrangements under the direction of Aycock Funeral Home, Port St Lucie, FL.
