I was saddened to hear about Uncle Sleiman passing away.  I have fond memories of his gentleness and caring conversations. My sympathies to all of you. Allah yerhamma.

Uncle Sleiman was an amazing, humble man and reminded me so much of his brother and my grandfather, Jidu Wadih. I cherish the time spent with him during the visits he made out here. He will be missed.

My thoughts and prayer are with you and your family. My the Grace of God be with you all.

I wish I could have been with the rest of the family during this time.  My grandfather was and will always be one of the most unique and strongest of men I have ever known.  With regret I consider the opportunities I had let pass that could have made me a better grandson.  With just a little more effort I could have called more often, sent more pictures and cards.  I was not a “bad” grandson, but with all the love in my heart, I wish I could have been a better one.

“Bendicion Abuelo, thank you for teaching me that “better late than never” is a lie.  I had new pictures of my kids, your great grandchildren ready to send to you in hopes that they would make you smile and feel better for a quick recovery.  I am angry with myself for not sending them soon, for not calling on your birthday to talk to Abuela to say happy birthday through her because you hate to talk on the phone in Spanish or English. I will always remember the lessons and talks, honest and direct comments, and the strength, will and stubbornness of which legends are made of."
