in a car accident.
Amanda was born on February 9th, 1998 to Diane Hesketh of Oxford, she was the beloved step
daughter of Rick Baril, also of Oxford. She was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect as an
infant but proved herself a fighter from outset, never letting her condition stop her from doing the
things she loved. She was a fun loving person who was always ready for an adventure,
choosing to never dwell on the negative.
Amanda channeled her desire to help others into the pursuit of a medical degree from University
of Maine at Fort Kent. On a sabbatical from school, she worked as a medical assistant at
Pediatric Associates of Lewiston. Amanda also enjoyed working in retail sales and she quickly
assumed a lead role in management. She was responsible for opening and co-managing
Windsor Store, a new women’s fashion store in the Maine Mall, with her close friend Autumn. In
the upcoming weeks Amanda was transitioning back into healthcare with a new job at CMMC.
Amanda is survived by her parents, Diane and Rick Baril; her sister Tiffany Sears & husband
Mat of Oxford, ME, brother Ryan Larochelle & wife Eliza of Turner, ME. Step brother Tyler Baril
and wife Angela of Oxford, ME. Amanda also leaves behind her Aunt Pauline Royal, niece
Willow, and nephew Greyson, and several loving cousins and extended family members. She is
also survived by brother Gary Hesketh of Poland, sister Carrie Hesketh of Lewiston, sister Laura
Couillard & husband Kevin of Port Charlotte, FL. She was pre-deceased by her grandparents
Harry and Irene Gauthier, and Aunt Angela Lapierre.
Special thank you to Amanda’s life long cardiologist, Dr. Jon P. Donnelly, and the staff of
Congenital Heart for the many years of care and kindness.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life gathering at the Auburn Hilton Garden Inn
on Saturday December 11th from 12 to 3.
