
Amelia Shoot, age 87, of Gray, ME, died on November 23, 2021 at home. She married Paul Shoot, December 27, 1952 in New York city. Paul was sitting with Amelia holding her hand when she passed away. She was born December 10, 1933 in New York, NY to John and Christina Sefcik. Amelia graduated high school in New York and attended secretarial school.
After staying at home to raise their 4 children she then worked as a secretary for Sylvania and then for ATT.
Amelia loved to talk about Jesus to her co-workers during lunch breaks. After receiving salvation through Jesus she was a life-long volunteer in her local church where ever she lived. She was a warrior in the “Right to Life” cause. After Paul retired from full time work, they were missionaries in China and Southeast Asia for 2 ½ years.
She enjoyed cross stitching, loom knitting. She was an excellent cook and took Chinese cooking classes with her oldest daughter.
Survived by daughters Doreen Dunn of Gray, ME, Karen Rommen of Silverdale, WA, Melanie Dower of Newtown, CT and son Jeffery Shoot of Ferndale, MI, 3 son-in-laws and one daughter-in-law, 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, sister Barbara Baratta, sister-in-law Theresa Shoot, 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
