Carrie was born in Portland, ME on September 17, 1939 to John F. and Grace E. Bickford. She attended Portland Schools and later married William F. Dyer and raised three children in Gorham, ME.
Carrie was a wonderful life long mother and homemaker to her own children and many of the kids in the neighborhood who called her "Ma" She was a much loved member of her church family at South Windham Community Church. Everyone loved her warm smile, infectious laughter, and passionate love of music as she sang and danced through our lives. She sang her children to sleep every night and sang with and for anyone who shared her love for musical expression. If we were lucky enough to sing with her we sang with so much more feeling after knowing her.
The family would like to send out special love to the angels among us who cared for Carrie and loved her into the arms of her Savior where she sings and dances with angels. Among those waiting for her in heaven are her husband, Bill Dyer, and their infant daughter,Patricia , her grandson, Joshua, her sister, Eleanor Gilbert, and brother, Billy Foote.
Waiting here to join her are her son, Billy Dyer, Lewiston, daughter, Cheryl Stain,Lewiston, son, Larry Dyer and his partner, Starr Mclean,Naples, grandchildren,Shawn,Justin,Christina,William,Patrick,Elizabeth,Samantha, and Melinda, all who have given her many great grandchildren.
