He was born December 19, 1940, to Clifford and Iva Rogers in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
As a young man, our father served on the Honor Guard in the Navy. He was a cowboy at heart, cowboy hat and all. He loved country music and was a fantastic country dancer. He worked in construction and could build anything. He was known for telling jokes and was great at it. As an older man, he was on a log sawing team with his best friend, Ray Choate. They went on to be the reigning champions for 10 years in a row at Oktoberfest in Big Bear, California. A couple of 70-80 year-olds beating 20-30 year-olds…it was quite impressive!
He lived most of his life in Arizona and California but moved to Maine to be near his dear friends, Buzz and Wendy Walker, a few years back.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Judy and John.
He is survived by his two daughters, Tracy O’Shaughnessy (Dennis) and Michelle Hendricks (Todd) along with his two grandchildren, Aiden O’Shaughnessy and Hannah Hendricks.
He was loved and will be missed.
