Daniel was born in Burlington, VT to the late Ceylon Seely and Helen Gordon. He was raised in South Paris, Maine and graduated from South Paris High School in 1956. After graduation he joined the U. S. Air Force and served his country for 8 years from 1957 to 1965.
He learned computer skills in the Air Force and, after leaving the Air Force, he became a systems engineer for National Cash Register where he worked for 27 years.
He was a talented basketball player in high school and won a best player award his senior year. He was an avid athlete and enjoyed basketball, golf, football, softball, and bowling. It took very little coaxing to interest him in a game.
He is survived by his five children, Pamela Brockett (Terry), Patricia Seely Shaw (Dale), James R. Seely (Laurie), Penelope Wahlstrom, and Patience Desimon; grandchildren Megan Thompson (Greg), Corinne Dalley, Garrett Dalley, Dylan Seely, Noah Seely, Alexandra Wahlstrom, Oliver Wahlstrom, Kolbi LaChapelle and Anthony Desimon; Dan's longtime Partner Rose Dow; Former wife Priscilla (Butterfield) Bickford Daniel is also survived by sisters Carlene Lemieux and Raniey Bushey.
