

PORTLAND - Don V. Elliott, 75, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018, at home in Portland. He was born in Portland on October 23, 1942, to the late Robert F. Sr. and Belva P. (Taylor) Elliott of Windham. He was the youngest of five children and grew up in Windham. He married Janice Drew in 1971, and they lived in Westbrook and Gray for a short time and over forty years in Portland. He worked at Columbia Market, Cushman Baking, Highway Transport, the American Can Company for almost 10 years and then at J. J. Nissen Baking Company as a yardman for over 30 years.He enjoyed driving semis, plowing with his 4 Runner, coffee with friends at McDonalds, his cats, reading, watching TV (especially the NCIS series), and playing cards.He was predeceased by his brother Harold Elliott of Illinois and his sister Ella Cyr of New Jersey. He is survived by his brother, Robert (Janet) Elliott of Raymond and his sister Stella Mitchell of Windham. He is survived by his wife Janice, son Carl, daughter Tammy, and his grandchildren Lindsey (all of Portland) and Christopher of Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews, including special niece Pamela Merrill of Windham. Also, his cats Rusty and Mittens.
The Elliott family would like to thank the staff of VNA Home Health & Hospice, South Portland, for their care and support. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Windham.
