

She attended Biddeford schools and graduated from St Andre’s High School in June 1956.
She married Lewis Rumery on November 10, 1956 and had 3 children; Karen, Mark and Brenda. They divorced in 1974.
Doris worked for many years at the Saco Tannery and West Point Pepperell. She later became a Real Estate agent working for Gilberte Roy Real Estate. She was the first person at the agency to sell a million dollar home.
After leaving real estate, she co-owned the Lantern Cottages and Mr. Sandwich Shop in Old Orchard Beach.
Doris married Dwight Boucher on October 1, 1989 in West Newfield, Maine, where they lived for many years.
Doris loved scoping out yard sales, hosting family gatherings and playing games. She was an avid Scrabble player and it was a rare occurrence when her opponent would win. She would always come up with a new game to play during our Christmas weekends. She also loved to paint and gifted friends and family with her art.
She is predeceased by her husband Dwight, her brother Roland (Shadow) Lavertue and her first husband, Lewis.
Doris is survived by her 3 children; Karen Cassidy and husband Kevin of Durham, Maine, Mark Rumery and wife Diane of Biddeford, Maine, and Brenda Rumery of South Portland, Maine, with whom she lived with for the last 5 years, her 2 stepdaughters, Amanda Ventimiglio and husband, Mike of Virginia and Nan Boucher of Portland, Maine.
She also has 4 grandchildren; Chris Gendron and his wife Ilse Teeters-Trumpy of Portland, Kelly Gendron and partner John St. Germain of Saco, Craig Rumery and wife Stacey of Saco and Roxanne Rumery and partner Mike Standen of Kennebunk, step-grandchildren Trey Boucher of Portland, Jonathan, Isabella and Eden Ventimiglio of Virginia and Sommer Cassidy. Great-grandchildren are Emmeline, Colton, Lillian, Connor and Elloise.
Celebration of Life will be held later this month.
