

He graduated from Loma Linda University with an M.D. degree and followed that with a residency in Internal Medicine. He taught on the faculties of UCLA and Loma Linda University Medical Schools.
He served in the army as a Captain/Major for two plus years at the 2nd General Hospital in Landstuhl, Germany. While there he was married to Dessa Weisz of Hurdsfield, North Dakota on January 4, 1956.
He spent many years in private medical practice in Stoneham, Massachusetts. He served a missionary assignment in teaching residents and interns in Manila, Philippine Islands. And again later after retirement he spent sever short terms as a consultant at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital in China. He and his family enjoyed their many years meeting new people and working with other culture groups.
He resided the last 16 years at 18 Woodhaven Drive in Kennebunk. He was a man of integrity and faithfulness. He was an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
He is survived by his wife Dessa and his three children, Steven Hardin, M.D. of Redlands, California, Deborah Bidaut and her husband Luc and grandson Thomas of Newport-on-Tay, Scotland, and Janna Overfield and her husband Chris and grandson Toby of London, England.
He found joy in life in his many travels and the beauties and workings of nature; and especially great joy in his two grandsons.
