Ernest Arthur Joseph Houle Sr.

Steep Falls- Ernest Arthur Joseph Houle Sr, 69, of Steep Falls, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at his residence.Ernest, born on February 22, 1945 in Lewiston, was the youngest son of the late Bertrand and Lauretta (St. Laurent) Houle.

After graduating from high school, Ernest joined the United States Army at the age of 21.He spent the next six years in the Army during the Vietnam War.He then went onto work for Gladu Roofing Company.He was also an avid member of the Westbrook Eagles.

Ernest was a diehard Bruins fan.He also enjoyed watching the Patriots and the Redsox, sitting by the fire with friends and family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Ernest is predeceased by his two brothers; Donald and Reginald Houle.He is survived by his son; Ernest Houle Jr; three step children; Angela Simpon, Michelle Hallstrom and Bill Gagne; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his older sister, Mrs. Norman (Constance) Nolin.

There will be a graveside service with military honors at Springvale Veterans Cemetery,83 Stanley Rd, Springvale, ME, at 2pm on Friday, November 14, 2014. The following Sunday, November 16, 2014, there will be a celebration of Ernest’s life at the Westbrook Eagles on Spring Street from 12pm to 4 pm.
