Heidi Hase

Heidi L. (Waterhouse) Hase of Dixfield, Maine, passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 54. She was born in Glens Falls, New York, to Duane and Gemma (Hunt) Waterhouse on November 9, 1970, at 10:22 pm. She would go on to live the first 12 years of her life in New York before moving with her family to Rumford, Maine, where she would continue to grow, start a family, and become a proud business owner.

Heidi graduated from Mountain Valley High School in 1988 and then attended cosmetology school. Eventually, she would return to school and graduate from Central Carolina Community College with two Associate Degrees in 2014.

For many years, Heidi worked as a hairdresser. She started out working under others before eventually opening her own shop in downtown Rumford (Mountain Valley Haircare). Eventually, she would go on to find a new passion, working in Veteran Services while living in Sanford, North Carolina. Both career paths brought many to Heidi and allowed her to help others in one way or another.

Heidi is preceded in death by her mother, Gemma.

Heidi is survived by her children, Mark and Amanda Hase; her father, Duane Waterhouse; and her siblings, Ian and Kelly Waterhouse. Along with other family members, her friends, and a community of people whose lives she touched and left a lasting imprint on.

The family would like to thank the teams of Central Maine Medical and Rumford Hospital for the compassion and respect they showed to Heidi during her final days. They would also like to thank the funeral home for providing thoughtful care and information during such a difficult time.

She was loved by many and will be sorely missed.
