Henry "Hank" Warren Gray Sr.

Hank was born on June 12, 1925 and was raised in Wakefield, MA, the son of the late Henry Warren Gray and the late Laura Taylor (Van Wart) Gray.

Hank served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Following WWII, Hank continued his education achieving a Bachelor’s degree at Colby College. He wed Marjorie Carol McKenna of Somerville, MA on September 27, 1952. Hank built his home on Haley Road and raised his family there. He became a civilian employee at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and was employed as a Nuclear Power Engineer until his retirement in 1974.

He was a member of the York Golf and Tennis Club and the South Berwick Rod and Gun Club for many years. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren at school activities and sporting events.

Hank was predeceased by his loving wife, Marjorie Carol Gray (1999), by his son Gordon Malcolm Gray (1958) and is survived by his sister Margaret (Gray) Geary of Chelmsford, MA, Hanks three sons, Warren Gray (Sandra Gray) of York, ME, Kenneth Grayof Kittery, ME and Ronald Gray (Christine Gray) of Natick, MA and his daughter Cheryl (Gray) Scroggins (Joel Scroggins) of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by a granddaughter Jessica Gray of Palm Bay, FL and a grandson James Gray of York, ME as well as two nieces, Suzanne Lawlor and Christine Sweeney.

A private farewell will be celebrated by immediate family, and no public funeral service is planned.
