

Portland, ME – James P. Pinette, 67, of Portland passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at his home, surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Geraldine P “Jerri” (Morse) Pinette.
Jim was born in Portland, ME on November 7, 1950, a son of the late Henry & Ruth E. (Mank) Pinette. He grew up in Portland, attending local area schools and eventually went to work for his beloved City in the Parks and Recreation Department, spending 47 years on the job; he was very dedicated to the positions he held and to the people he worked with, which came to be like family.
Besides his loving wife of 50 years, Jerri, Jim is survived by his two beautiful daughters Sonya Knight and Tina Pinette, his three grandchildren Kristy Landry, Tyler Spear and Jake Mason and his three great grandchildren Quincy, Justice and Javonte Gadbois. He also leaves his sister Donna Pinette-Market, his brother Henry Pinette Jr. and many in-laws, nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.
He was the father of the late Kevin and James Pinette Jr., the brother of the late Linda Deross, Ruthie Hatch, Dennis Pinette and Everette Winslow, the uncle of the late Darrin Pinette, Mike Butler Jr., Joey and Josh Chapman and was the son-in-law of the late Phyllis Morse.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Wilde Memorial Chapel in Evergreen Cemetery, 672 Stevens Ave., Portland. Burial will follow in Forest City Cemetery, South Portland, ME.
