Jeffrey W. Hitchcock

Portland, ME - Jeffrey W. Hitchcock, 58, of Biddeford and formerly of Portland, died unexpectedly on Sunday October 20, 2013 at Maine Medical Center. He was the husband of Holly D. (Sweetser) Hitchcock.

He was born in Portland, ME on March 7, 1955 a son of the late Webster Hitchcock and Patricia (Garland) Greene of Portland. He grew up in Portland attending local area school as well as Portland High School. He married Holly on April 20, 1985 and moved to Biddeford about two years ago.

Jeff was mostly employed as a driver for several different companies including Atlantic Transport, Fogg& Jordan and East Coast Marketing Group.

He was an on and off member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Portland; as well as a NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon fan.

Besides his wife Holly and his mother Patricia he is survived by his five children; Susan Knight and her husband Dennis of Kentucky, Kelly Mackneer and her husband Andrew of Pennsylvania, Jody Hemmings and her husband Greg of Gray, ME, Chrystal Hitchcock of Westbrook, ME and Jeffrey W. Hitchcock Jr. of Biddeford. He also leaves fifteen grandchildren as well as a half-brother Jimmy Hitchcock and his wife Kim of Standish.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. the Salvation Army, 297 Cumberland Ave. Portland, ME.
