“Red” | “Lil Red”
Born in Bath, Maine | 1953 – 2025
With deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Linda Grace Wyman Nadeau, affectionately known by many as “Red” and “Lil Red.” Linda left this world at the age of 72, still full of life, love, and laughter that touched everyone she encountered.
Born in Bath, Maine, and a proud graduate of Kennebunk High School, Linda roots are in Maine although her heart stretched across the country to family in Louisiana, North Carolina and friends in between. Her life represented compassion, adventure, strength, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Linda retired from the Maine Veterans Home, where she spent many years tirelessly laboring with love, appreciation, love, and respect for the veterans she served—contributing daily to their comfort and well-being in a role that reflected her deep sense of caring. Linda worked hard at many other jobs as well during her lifetime but regardless of where or what, she was well known to have a strong Wyman work ethic.
Linda was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harry Walter Nadeau, as well as her mother Dorothy Buckley Wyman, father William Wyman, and cherished siblings Dorothy Thompson, Caroline Sutton, Harriet Wyman, Mary Ann Wyman Fitzpatrick, and Thomas Charles Wyman.
She is survived by her loving brothers Donald Wyman and John Wyman, and by a large, devoted family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews across New England, Louisiana, and beyond—each of whom she loved fiercely and wholly, as if they were her very own children.
Linda's life was one of joy, vitality, and bold spirit. She rode motorcycles well into her 60s and continued kayaking, walking, traveling, and embracing the outdoors with enthusiasm and energy throughout her 70s. She had a green thumb and found delight in nurturing her plants and flowers. A skilled pool player since her teens, a faithful member of her beloved Red Hats group, and a friend to all who crossed her path, Linda never missed a chance to laugh, to connect, or to show up for someone in need.
She made every day count and every person feel counted. Whether through a spontaneous visit, a thoughtful gesture, or a warm hug, Linda radiated kindness. Her light shone brightly in the lives of her neighbors, lifelong friends, former co-workers, and friends all over the United States—many of whom have already reached out, heartbroken by the news of her passing, expressing both their sorrow over her loss and their heartfelt prayers for her grieving family.
In her final moments, the ICU staff at Concord Hospital in Concord, New Hampshire provided care with remarkable compassion. Her family is forever grateful for the dignity, gentleness, and grace shown to Linda during that time by the wonderful ICU staff.
A heartfelt thank-you also goes to Keoke Kennels Grooming and Boarding for their care of Linda’s beloved terrier, Dottie Ann, and to Joyce Young, Linda’s dear friend and neighbor, who lovingly stepped in to continue that care.
Linda’s final act of kindness was a lasting gift—she was an organ donor, and through her selflessness, she is already saving and improving lives.
Though she is no longer physically with us, Linda Grace Wyman Nadeau’s legacy of unconditional love, strength, and joy will continue to bloom in the lives she touched. Her family and friends will carry her in their hearts every day, honoring her memory with laughter, compassion, and courage—just as she lived.
Any day spent with you Linda....is a good day.
A celebration of Linda’s extraordinary life will be held at her home on August 23rd.
"She walked through this world with grace, laughter, and love. And though she has left our sight, she will never leave our hearts."
