Monica Leigh Sykes

Monica was born on April 14, 1956, to Malcolm P. and Laverne B. (Youngs) Sykes. She grew up in Windham Maine and attended Windham schools.

She spent her years as a nanny for several families, working at the Sheraton Hotel, Magic Muffin, the Brass Rail, and Denny’s before she retired.

Monica enjoyed spending her time reading and watching movies. She loved to shop, hang with friends and family, and really enjoyed ‘surfing the web.

Monica is survived by her partner, Angel Reyes, siblings Edward Sykes, Marlene Douglas, Michele Hale and her partner Scott Grant, Marie Sykes and her partner Steve Plummer, three nieces, one nephew, four great-nieces, and many nephews, along with nieces of Angel’s. Monica was predeceased by her brother Mark Sykes (1998), father Malcolm (2005) and mother Laverne (2007).

Please join us for a burial and celebration of life on July 2, 2022, at 11:30 Am. The burial will take place at Mayberry Cemetery on Park Rd, Windham, Maine. With a Celebration of Life to follow at the Little Meeting House on Route 302 in Windham.
